This Friday marks the 25th Anniversary of the horrific events of September 11, 2001. Nearly 3,000 people died that day. The heroic actions of emergency responders and complete strangers, rendering aid to those in need, showed compassion, strength, and commitment amid the chaos. During this tragedy, people from across the nation and across the world demonstrated a desire for unity and healing. We offer prayers of gratitude to those from our parish and local area who supported the recovery efforts. 

Father Bob will offer daily Mass as a way of honoring the memory of all those who lost their life that day, or those who died later due to the harmful effects of toxic exposure and other illnesses that resulted from working rescue and recovery efforts at Ground Zero. A Catholic priest, Father Mychal Judge, the New York Fire Department chaplain, was the first recorded fatality that day. Like so many, he raced toward the danger, bringing faith, prayer, and the light of Christ.  

If you lost a loved one that day, whether in the Twin Towers, at the Pentagon, or on a Pennsylvania field, or later with an illness directly related to the attacks, please contact the office by 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 10, so that we can include your loved one’s name(s) during the Universal Prayers.
