Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the journey by which adults prepare to enter the Catholic Church. It is also a place of inquiry for those who are simply exploring the Catholic faith or seeking to learn more.

OCIA may also serve Catholics who were baptized but have not yet received Confirmation and/or First Holy Communion.

Who is OCIA for?

• Persons who have never been baptized and wish to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist, also known as Holy Communion, in the Catholic Church
• Persons who were baptized in another Christian denomination and wish to be received into full communion with the Catholic Church by receiving the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist, and Marriage.
• Baptized Catholics who have not completed their initiation and wish to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist
  
  

How does OCIA work?

The process begins with a period of inquiry for those who feel called to consider the

Participants are asked to bring a sincere spirit of inquiry, active participation, and a desire to learn about the Catholic faith through formation, personal discernment, prayer, and attendance on Sunday and Holy Day liturgies.

If you are not currently a member of the Catholic Church, you are warmly welcome to worship with us, listen to the Word of God, and walk with us as you discern your next step.
