Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the journey by which adults prepare to enter the Catholic Church. It is also a place of inquiry for those who are simply exploring the Catholic faith or seeking to learn more.

OCIA may also serve Catholics who were baptized but have not yet received Confirmation and/or First Holy Communion.

Who is OCIA for?

OCIA is for:

• Those who are not Catholic and would like to learn more about the Catholic faith
• Those who desire to become Catholic through Baptism, Profession of Faith, or reception into the Church
• Baptized Catholics who have not completed their Sacraments of Initiation (Confirmation and/or Eucharist)
• Anyone who is searching, questioning, or returning to the Church after time away

If you are not currently a member of the Catholic Church, you are warmly welcome to worship with us, listen to the Word of God, and walk with us as you discern your next step.

You are invited to join our OCIA Inquiry Sessions if you:

• Feel drawn to learn more about the Catholic Church
• Are curious about Catholic beliefs and traditions
• Have questions about faith, Scripture, or the sacraments

The Luke E. Hart Series (Online Course)

An optional instructional resource is available for those who would like to explore the Catholic faith more deeply. This course uses content from the Luke E. Hart Series, based on the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

It explores questions such as:

• What do Catholics believe?
• How do Catholics worship?
• How does a Catholic live in the world today?

Please note: This online course does not replace OCIA. Full participation in OCIA is still required in order to receive the Sacraments of Initiation and enter into full communion with the Catholic Church.
