In keeping with the new diocesan mandate that we move towards Restored Order for sacraments, the Sacrament of Confirmation will be offered to all middle schoolers (and high schoolers) this year.
If your child is in middle school or high school please register them online, or in person after all Masses next weekend. You must be registered at Christ Our Redeemer to receive the Sacrament here.
Please register them for Community Catechesis, Youth Ministry, and Confirmation (registration form found on sidebar).
Once you are registered you will begin receiving emails regarding sacramental prep.
Important Dates: Registration: August 23rd and 24th after all Masses Confirmation classes will be on Wednesday evenings during Youth Ministry and begin August 27th. Class times are 5:30pm to 7:30pm. There will be a confirmation parent meeting Sept. 10th at 6:45 pm. Confirmation is scheduled for February 1, 2026, so all those wishing to be confirmed should be registered NLT September 10th.
Before Jesus was put to death, He promised His followers that He would send His Spirit to comfort and strengthen them. True to His promise, the Holy Spirit was poured out on them on Pentecost, fifty days after His resurrection from the dead. The Sacrament of Confirmation is our own Pentecost. When we are confirmed, we receive the Holy Spirit, through the anointing with oil and the laying on of hands by the bishop or a priest appointed by him.
When we receive this sacred seal we show that we belong to God. By their anointing, the prophets, kings and priests of the Old Testament were elevated to a special position in their service of God. So it is with us when we receive the holy oil on our foreheads; we become part of the priesthood of all believers, witnesses to Christ and heirs to His throne.
